The American Breast Cancer Foundation’s Board of Directors has been selected based on their areas of expertise, education, and most importantly their passion and dedication to assist minority and underserved populations achieve equality in breast cancer outcomes. 

The primary responsibility of the American Breast Cancer Foundation Board of Directors is to provide oversight. Board members are the fiduciaries who steer the organization towards a sustainable future by providing ethical governance, strategic planning, and sound financial management to ensure adequate resources are available to advance ABCF’s vital mission. 

All newly elected board members must submit to ABCF counsel a Conflict-of-Interest Disclosure Statement that specifies that no compensation was received for their participation as an elected official. Identifying to the best of the director’s knowledge, any entity of which the newly elected director or affiliates is an officer, trustee, member, owner (either as a sole proprietor or partner), or employee, and the American Breast Cancer Foundation has a relationship. Additionally, any transaction or potential transaction in which ABCF is a participant, and the director may have a conflicting interest. ABCF counsel has the authority to submit disclosure statements from all directors to auditors on an annual basis.

The ABCF Medical Advisory Board serves as a valuable resource providing expert medical advice and guidance.  Their expertise is essential to program oversight and understanding the needs of breast cancer patients, particularly among underserved communities.

Medial Advisory Board members also serve as guest speakers at ABCF events and assist with educational outreach by reviewing ABCF publications and keeping our key publics informed of advancements in breast cancer treatment and technology.
