Dr. Barbara Bartlik

Medical Advisory Board Member

Dr. Barbara Bartlik is a nationally recognized psychiatrist, integrative medicine specialist, and sex therapist who has dedicated over three decades to advancing compassionate, holistic care. Board-certified in psychiatry (American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology), integrative medicine (American Board of Integrative Medicine), and sexology (American Board of Sexology), she bridges traditional psychiatry with functional medicine to address the full spectrum of mental, emotional, and physical health. Her personalized treatment plans combine advanced diagnostic testing, nutrition, lifestyle modification, mind-body therapies, and responsible use of medication—empowering patients to build resilience and restore well-being.

A leader in integrative mental health, Dr. Bartlik has particular expertise in supporting cancer patients and survivors as they navigate the emotional, physical, and relational challenges of diagnosis and recovery. She is also a recognized authority in PTSD, depression, anxiety, and sexual health, helping individuals and couples rediscover intimacy and connection after illness.

Editor of Integrative Sexual Health (Weil Integrative Medicine Library, Oxford University Press, 2018) and a sought-after voice in both media and academic circles, Dr. Bartlik has worked extensively to shed light on often-overlooked aspects of healing, particularly in the context of sexual health and intimacy during cancer recovery. She trained at NYU Langone Health after earning her M.D. with distinction in epidemiology at Albert Einstein College of Medicine. She was profoundly influenced by her work with pioneering sex therapist Dr. Helen Singer Kaplan and renowned neurologist Dr. Oliver Sacks.

Her honors include recognition as one of New York Magazine’s “Best Doctors,” Castle Connolly’s “Top Doctors,” and election as a Distinguished Life Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association. She serves on the Advisory Boards of Firefighters Against Cancers and Exposures, the Male Breast Cancer Global Alliance, and The Women’s Health Collaborative.

Dr. Bartlik’s vision is to support every patient holistically, addressing not only symptoms but also the deeper dimensions of health—physical vitality, emotional balance, and meaningful connection.
