BASC Initiative

In order to increase access to breast health screening and care, a new concept in treatment is being explored by the American Breast Cancer Foundation and a nationally renown breast health center.  The potential mission of the BASC Initiative, (Breast Health Access to Screening and Care) would be to save lives from breast cancer by reducing barriers to breast cancer screening, diagnosis, treatment, and survivorship.

This collaboration would guide patients through the healthcare system through the use of Community Advocates and Nurse Navigators, and would seek to reduce mortality rates of populations who are uninsured or underserved.  It would be the program's goal to extend the reach to those who have nowhere else to turn for help.
