For my mother

I only do this because I love you and I want you to be happy. Find your happiness. My name is Carl Anthony Weeks.I am a Marine in the United States Marine Corps, and I am the son of a breast cancer survivor. My mother had breast cancer when i was 13 years old and she survived. I am now 23 years old and live by myself 2 states aways from her. When i say survive she is still alive, but not doing well. Its not the cancer its the aftermath of cancer. She lost her breasts, and much more. My father walked out on her when i turned 17. He did it because he did not like the way she looked after surgery. He only stayed that long because of me, but he knows now he should have left long before that. I love him, but how can i love him after what he did to her. She now hates the way she looks, and has no self-confidence. For 10 years i have watched mother die of the cancer she over came. Slowly she melts to her grave having no faith or hope in anything. It is a pain that no one could understand.I have seen in her eyes and i know the pain is eating at her heart and soul so badly, so quickly. She has nothing left but me and my brother, and we are no longer there for her to be with during the hours of the day. We are here and she knows that, but she no longer can talk to us or see us just like that. It hurts me and my brother to see her the way she is. She deserves the world and i wished i could give it to her, but i can't. So here i sit writing a letter to someone i don't know and hope and pray that someone will care enough to give a hand to someone that means so much to me. If you were in my shoes i feel that you would have to do the same for someone you love. My mothers name is Pamela Kay Weeks and she means the world to my family and her friends and we all wish and pray for help. If there is someone that can help please contact me at 850-384-3626.
